Everything on the Sisterhood — our blog on sex, self-care, and shaving — is written and published by the Freya Editorial Team. We're a small team, not a content mill, and we'd rather tell you straight how this stuff gets made than dress it up.
Who writes this
Articles are attributed to the Freya Editorial Team rather than an individual byline. That's a deliberate choice, not a dodge: our content is a team effort — writers, the founders, and the women who actually use the Vee every day — and we're not going to invent a "Dr. So-and-so" or a fake reviewer credential just to look more official. If a piece ever genuinely needs an outside expert's sign-off (say, a medical claim that goes beyond general skin-care basics), we'll name that person for real or we won't publish the claim.
How we research
Most Sisterhood posts are practical — shaving technique, product care, subscription logistics, real talk about bodies. For that, our source is direct product experience plus customer questions we actually get. When a post touches anything medical or dermatological (skin sensitivity, ingrown hairs, razor burn, general shaving safety), we source claims from established medical references — dermatology associations, published clinical guidance — and link to them directly in a Sources section at the bottom of the post whenever they anchor a specific claim. We don't cite a source we haven't actually read.
Accuracy — and what happens when we get it wrong
We fact-check before publishing and periodically re-check older posts as products, policies, or guidance change (a shipping policy or subscription cadence mentioned in a two-year-old post has to still be true today, or we fix it). We're a small team, so mistakes happen. If you spot one, email hello@hifreya.com — a real person reads it, and we'll correct the post.
Where product mentions come in
Sisterhood posts are published by Freya and will naturally mention Freya products — we're not pretending to be a neutral third-party review site. When we cite a spec (battery life, materials, cadence options), it comes from our own product documentation, and prices shown anywhere on the site are pulled live rather than typed in by hand, so what you see is what's actually current.
