The Sisterhood is where we have the conversations that matter. Sex, self, shaving, direct, useful, and written by people who actually care.
What This Is
The Sisterhood is freya.'s editorial section. It exists because we kept running into content that was either too clinical to be useful or too sanitized to be honest, and we figured someone should write the actual version.
That someone is us.
We're a female-led company that makes a 5-blade premium razor that also happens to be a 6-setting personal vibrator. That sentence probably already tells you something about who we are. We don't whisper about what our product does. We don't wink at the taboo. We built a product that does two things well, and we write about both, and about the territory around both.
What We Publish Here
Sex and pleasure. Not clinical, not crude. We write about vibrators the way a knowledgeable friend would — specifically, practically, with actual information. We explain how the Vee's vibration function works, what six settings means in practice, how to start if you've never owned a personal vibrator before. We answer the questions people actually search for and feel relieved to find a real answer to.
Shaving — and specifically, intimate shaving. There's a lot of bad advice about this and a shortage of good advice. We write about how to shave the pubic area without irritation, what actually causes razor burn (hint: it's mostly dull blades and too much pressure), and how a vibrating razor changes the physics of a shave in the places where it matters most. Practical, technique-driven, honest about what the product does and doesn't fix.
Self-care without the woo. We believe pleasure is a daily self-care practice — the way some people believe in their morning coffee or their sleep routine. We write about it the same way: normal, useful, no eye-rolling required. We don't do the crystals-and-manifestation version of self-care. We do the "here's what actually works and why" version.
The occasional founder note. Like this one. When something is worth saying about why freya. exists, who it's for, or what we're thinking — we'll say it here.
What We Don't Publish
Corporate-speak. "We're thrilled to announce" goes in the trash.
Vague wellness language that sounds meaningful and says nothing. You know the kind: "honor your journey," "embrace your authentic self," "nourish your inner goddess." None of that lives here.
Shame-adjacent content. We don't publish anything that implies you should feel weird about what you like, what you buy, or what you do in your own shower. The whole premise of this brand is that liberation belongs in every household, we're not going to undercut that in our editorial.
Product launches dressed up as articles. If we're selling something, we'll tell you we're selling something. Educational content that's actually just a coupon code with extra steps is beneath everyone's time.
The Bigger Point
Here's what we actually believe: the conversations most wellness and personal care brands won't have are the conversations their customers most want to have.
Women want to know how to shave their bikini line without developing a rash. They want to know whether a vibrating razor actually works better or whether it's just a marketing claim. They want to know what makes the Vee a real vibrator and not a novelty, and they want to understand discretion as a feature, not just a color choice. They want honest answers to the questions they've been Googling in incognito mode.
That's what this is. The Sisterhood is the editorial home for those conversations.
We educate before we sell. Read these articles whether you buy or not, the information here is useful independent of Freya, and we mean that. A few of these pieces will mention the Vee specifically because it genuinely does something relevant; most of them are useful regardless of what razor or device you own.
Read Along
New pieces go up when they're ready, which is to say, when they're actually worth your time. We'd rather take an extra two weeks to write something right than publish on a schedule for the sake of metrics.

How often do new stories publish?
We aim for one or two new pieces per month. We'd rather publish one article worth reading than five that waste your time. Check back, or subscribe to the Freya email list for a note when something new goes up.
